Does everyone know this song? It is a staple of classic rock stations and put Lynyrd Skynyrd on the map. If not let me describe it to you… it is terrible.

Actually, I take that back. It is not really terrible, it is just overplayed and overused.

There is nothing that I despise more than when they put this song in a montage of a movie, or when Kid Rock does a cover of it. Have you heard that cover?

Holy shit.

Now I know what you are thinking, ‘how could Kid Rock not produce a hit?’ Well, he didin’t.

I am proposing a ban on the use of Sweet Home Alabama in all forms of entertainment. Much like many guitar stores have signs asking people not to play Stairway To Heaven when trying out a guitar. I am asking the entertainment world to do the same.

If we can’t all agree to stop using if forever, than what about a 15 year ban? I think that is a pretty fair compromise.
